Hello.
Welcome to my website.
I'm Beomjoon Ko. I build software, sweat the small details, and write about what I learn along the way.
I like simple tools, honest engineering, and building things that keep getting better after they ship.
Building products.
I take ideas from a rough sketch to something people use every day, and I care about everything in between: the edge cases, the loading states, the last pixel.
Learning continuously.
Every project leaves something behind. I keep notes, revisit old decisions, and fold what I learn back into the next thing I build.
Writing it down.
Writing is how I think. I publish notes on engineering, tools, and the occasional experiment that didn't work out.
Writing.
Experience.
-
Acme Labs - Software Engineer
Building the core product end to end, from API design to the small interface details people notice.
-
Northwind - Engineering Intern
Worked on internal developer tools and made the test suite fast enough that people stopped skipping it.
-
Example University - B.S. Computer Science
Studied systems and architecture. Spent many late nights with assembly and enjoyed most of them.
Bookshelf.
Books I keep coming back to.
- The Pragmatic Programmer - David Thomas, Andrew Hunt
- Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs - Harold Abelson, Gerald Jay Sussman
- The Design of Everyday Things - Don Norman
- Gödel, Escher, Bach - Douglas Hofstadter
Let's build something together.
